Hello! I’m Dr. Katie Linton. I am a 2007 graduate of the Oregon State University College of Veterinary Medicine. Following graduation I worked in general veterinary practices, initially as a mixed animal veterinarian, then as a small animal only veterinarian. In 2010 I began volunteering as a firefighter in the small community that I lived in. This started as an interest in getting to know and get involved in my community. My father had been a volunteer firefighter for over 20 years in the small southern Oregon town that I grew up in. Little did I know that this would launch another passion in life. During my volunteer academy I absolutely fell in love with the fire service. In 2012 I accepted a career position with the Camas Washougal Fire Department in Washington and made a career switch from full time Veterinarian to full time Firefighter/EMT-IV tech. I feel blessed to have found not one, but 2 careers that I am so passionate about. Both allow me to help others and are a great source of both personal and professional satisfaction. Although my primary career is now that of a firefighter, I also enjoy my small animal housecall veterinary practice.
When I am not at work I enjoy a variety of hobbies and activities including my latest obsession pottery! I also enjoy cycling (mountain biking, gravel races, cyclocross and more), hiking, camping, spending time with friends and family and checking out local brew pubs.
